Norse Cutting and Abandonment AS (NCA) serves the oil and gas industry internationally by providing a comprehensive variety of vital services within repair and maintenance of offshore plants, plug and abandonment, decommissioning and rig mooring. NCA was sold in March 2011.

Halfwave Subsea offers subsea inspection services to the deep-water energy and offshore wind markets based on a proprietary ultra-wideband acoustic inspection technology. The high accuracy, resolution and repeatability and robustness enables state of the art asset integrity practices to control corrosion/erosion, avoid structural collapse and prevent leakages into the sea from the energy sector. Halfwave Subsea was sold to Eddify NDT in February 2020.

Cereus Ultrasonics is developing downhole inspection services based on a proprietary ultra-wideband acoustic inspection technology for monitoring of subterranean (oil, gas, and geothermal) wells. The technology, which represents a step change in terms of efficiency and accuracy, prevents well integrity-related environmental accidents (and thus oil and/or methane emissions to sea and air) and reduces the carbon footprint of integrity monitoring operations. It is particularly suited for use in gas wells and plugging and abandonment operations where it achieves lower net costs for the customer.

NEMS (previously called Add Novatech and part of Add Energy Group) is the industry’s leading environmental software solutions provider. The company has created the preferred environmental software solutions compliant with some of the world's strictest environmental regulations. They assist energy operators, chemical suppliers, authorities and trade associations with environmental advice, chemical documentation, emissions quantification and discharge reporting to save time and reduce risk for their clients. Through their advice, the different stakeholders in the energy industry have gained more accurate and consistent means of quantifying and reporting emissions. NEMS was sold to Vela Software in 2018.

Noova Energi System AS is an innovative Norwegian company that is helping its customers in the B2B market reduce costs related to power consumption and become more energy smart. Noova was established in 2005 and is based out of Ålgård (south of Stavanger, Norway) with sales offices in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. Using its Logic technology platform, and by actively collecting, analyzing, and presenting energy-related data to its customers, Noova creates improved insight as a basis for changing company energy behaviour and making sound, profitable and sustainable decisions.

3LC is a turn-key solution for real-time debugging, diagnosis and correction of data-related issues for AI, in order to make better, faster and smaller AI models. 3LC exists to provide deeper clarity and control to data scientists. 3LC’s goal is to transform machine learning from an opaque process into an open and interactive experience focused on providing exceptional outcomes for both individuals and organisations.

Sense Intellifield is an innovative supplier of e-field technologies. Sense’s technology enables oil and gas companies to realize substantial cost savings and productivity improvements. Sense Intellifield was sold to Kongsberg Maritime in December 2006.

Omniware AS delivers state-of-the-art operational risk management software, significantly improving the critical business areas of health, safety and environment (HSE) and contract management, respectively. Omniware was sold in December 2010.

Stingray Geophysical focuses exclusively on its role as a leading provider of advanced, fibre optic-based, permanent reservoir monitoring solutions. Stingray was sold to TGS NOPEC ASA in April 2011.

SeaBed Geophysical AS specialises in four-component seabed seismic surveys using proprietary autonomous nodes. The company provides all aspects of seabed seismic including: feasibility studies and pre-survey planning; data acquisition; on site QC; and data processing and interpretation. SeaBed Geophysical was sold in June 2006.

SageRider, founded in 2008, provides and installs a range of innovative products, including sensors, for the completion and optimisation of oil and gas wells, primarily in the US unconventional onshore market. SageRider’s nodal and distributed sensors enable the digitisation of oil and gas assets. SageRider was sold to Madison Industries in February 2018.

READ Cased Hole is a leading independent provider of downhole well assurance services focused on well integrity, leak detection and flow profiling, from drilling to abandonment. READ has built a solid reputation for adding value to clients by providing an integrated concurrent operational capability, which saves time and cost versus conventional sequential operations. READ Cased Hole was sold in December 2016.

PanGeo Subsea has developed a new acoustic sensor used to deliver geophysical solutions to geotechnical problems. In doing so, PanGeo significantly reduces the cost and time required to install offshore structures such as windmills and oil and gas structures. Its technology is used globally to remove old, unexploded ordnance from the ocean, permitting safe development of renewable energy facilities. PanGeo was sold in May 2018.

MTEM provides innovative broadband and multi-transient electromagnetic surveying services to determine the existence and extent of hydrocarbons in land and marine reservoirs. MTEM was sold to Petroleum Geo-Services ASA in July 2007.

Metron is Norway’s largest manufacturer of sensor technology instruments for temperature and pressure monitoring for the offshore, marine and process industries. Metron’s equipment is used for a wide range of environmental protection purposes including monitoring for oil leaks and regulating water and air quality. Metron was sold in July 2013.

IWC developed an innovative through-bore method for mud pulse/pressure pulse communication from MWD/LWP to surface. The negative pressure system improves the efficiency and safety of operations. IWC was sold to Halliburton in October 2013.

ARKeX is a geophysical service company for the exploration and production sector. It reduces technical risk through integrated airborne/marine gravity gradiometry BlueQube surveys which quickly and economically image structures in challenging geologies. This reduces environmental impact by minimising the need to make large inroads into reservoirs with poor characteristics.

Zilift uses permanent magnet technology to put downhole pumps where others can't. Its technology facilitates water-free workovers of wells, mitigating contamination and reducing water consumption in sensitive areas.

OsComp developed cutting edge technology for fuel switching applications by enabling natural gas to be used instead of diesel thereby enabling significant GHG emission reduction.

NovaDrill, founded in August 2008, developed an advanced downhole drilling technology, providing a complete directional drilling and formation evaluation system. Through its rotary steering tools, MWD/LWD tools and PDC bits and PDC cutters, NovaDrill revolutionised geosteering and drilling performance. NovaDrill was sold in January 2010.

Ziebel AS provides innovative, lightweight and cost-effective long-reach well intervention conveyance technology and logging solutions using distributed fibre optics. Ziebel’s proprietary big data algorithms provide state-of-the-art decision support to clients and enable them to maximise recovery from reservoirs.

Oxane Materials, Inc. developed and manufactures the only nano-structured ceramic proppants for well fracking. The strength/weight ratios of its proprietary products constituted a paradigm shift in proppant transport and conductivity.

Meta Liner Hanger provides downhole isolation products using its patented Metalmorphology technology which protects the environment by greatly reducing the risk of hydrocarbon leaks. The technology utilises metal-to-metal seals for life-of-well isolation applications, which reduces time and cost in otherwise complex and consumptive operations. Meta Liner Hanger was sold to Schlumberger in March 2016.

DeepFlex developed a fully composite flexible riser for dynamic deepwater oil and gas production. The product enables significant reduction in the weight of topside floating installations due to improved buoyancy.

Zeropex developed the RotaChoke technology to generate and harvest clean energy from necessary pressure drops in fluid process systems, such as water utility systems, which would otherwise be wasted. Zeropex was sold in 2013.

Sigma developed a low-cost turret system for FPSOs. Its technology significantly reduces the costs and materials needed in mooring and fluid transfer systems, resulting in overall emissions savings.

Sense EDM AS is a supplier of intelligent rigs, innovative tubular handling systems and control systems to the international oil and gas industry. Sense EDM was sold to TTS Marine ASA in May 2007.

Red Spider is a leader in remote open and close valve technology (ROCT), predominantly used for intervention and completion applications. ROCT meaningfully increases operational efficiency and reduces net cost. Red Spider was sold to Halliburton in December 2012.

Enpro Subsea is a production optimisation specialist. Enpro’s proprietary solutions enable the use of smaller and lighter vessels which provides overall cost, time and emissions savings. Enpro is also the leader in OSPAR compliant characterisation and removal of cell contents for decommissioning of gravity-based structures offshore. This capability mitigates the unintended release of hydrocarbon into the sea, reducing both decommissioning costs and the resulting carbon footprint. Enpro was sold to Hunting plc. in February 2020.

Cubility offers a proprietary cost- and energy-efficient solids removal solution related to drilling fluid operations. The solution improves well construction efficiency, enables material and chemistry recycling and substantially improves the working environment. Cubility was sold to Triton in April 2014.

Caltec delivers high-value production boosting and separation technology, enabling companies to make maximum use of existing energy and facilities. By using naturally available high-pressure sources, it reduces net cost and overall emissions into the atmosphere. Caltec was sold in September 2008.

APL provides advanced production and loading systems for mooring and fluid transfer and the loading of oil and gas into shuttle tankers and pipelines. Its products have set the industry standard in energy and space/material efficiency combined with best-in-class reliability, safety and environmental performance under harsh weather conditions. APL was sold in August 2005.

Viju is a global visual communications specialist whose aim is to transform the way people communicate and collaborate in the workplace, thereby reducing carbon footprint through reduction in business travel. Viju was sold to Avedon Capital Partners in 2017.

Reailty Mobile developed and delivered high-performance real-time video streaming services to secure enterprise and critical operations.

Utilising its specialist expertise in shale and complex conventional rock formations, Ingrain has developed advanced technology providing near real-time precise measurements of physical properties of reservoir rocks and drill cuttings using MRI/CT scanning and patented computational methods. Ingrain provides unique reservoir insights and helps geoscientists and reservoir engineers find and develop their most productive rock, reducing risk and environmental impact. Ingrain was sold in July 2017.

Workover Solutions (WOS) is a technology company which provides thru-tubing tools, service and personnel for the completion, workover, and gas storage markets. Use of WOS technology improves the efficiency rates for customer operations and reduces the use of chemicals. This results in reduced non-productive time, leading to a decrease in overall operational time.

Wireless Seismic manufactures the only wireless seismic data acquisition system with real-time data return, improving data quality while significantly lowering the costs and environmental impact of seismic operations.

By lowering the number of days required to drill and complete a well the innovative tool reduces the CO2 impact of drilling operations. 2TD was sold in October 2014.
